Bowls Counties Manukau Over 60’s Pairs Champion of Champions

Good use was made of the Pukekohe Cosmopolitan Club’s indoor Stadium on Tuesday 30 th March when the BCM Over 60’s pairs Champion of Champions were forced inside with the promise of plentiful rain in the morning.

We were at least able to conduct the days play without interruption and so the four rounds were successfully completed.

Nelly Yep (Skip) and Sharon Green (Lead)prevailed in the Women’s final by 23-12 over Pauline Hayward and Mavis Jones . Pauline’s ability to change the head deserted her while Nelly just kept on putting her bowls in close.

In similar fashion , while Herb Brown led really well ,Vince Hape (Skip) had no luck in the final with upshots or drives and allowed the David Culbert (Skip) and Nev McSweeney combination a comfortable victory at 20-13.

Thank you to all who competed and to Ruth and Pam for providing some much needed nourishment.

Lets hope this event gets back onto the programme for next year.
