Champion of Champions -Pairs

Bowls Counties Manukau Champ of Champ Pairs Eleven men’s and eight women’s pairs contested the Centre Champion of Champion pairs which was played at Buckland Bowling Club in good cool conditions.

In the men’s semis Hunua’s Ross & Chesham played Papakura’s Dix & Rajek with Papakura late in the game clearing away to win 16-11 and in the other semi, Clark & Andrew defeated Karaka’s Kendall & Kirkbride 23-12 which set up a good final between Manurewa & Papakura.

In the women’s semifinals Williams & Holmes from Waiuku defeated Brown & Reihana from Homai (18-11) and Tilyard & Larsen Pukekohe defeated Main & Maloney Buckland (23-11).

The Women’s final between Tilyard/Larsen and Williams/Holmes promised a lot but Adrienne Tilyard and Jan Larsen had other ideas and took on an early lead and continued to confidently build the points which saw them finally pull away to win comfortable 23-7.

In the Men’s final Manurewa’s Clark and Andrew played Papakura’s Brody Dix and Daniel Rajek with Dave Clark and Roger Andrew taking out yet another Centre men’s title after another strong performance.
