Des Colson. Worthy winner of the Covid Cup.

In the last 3 weeks Karaka Bowling Club members have enjoyed their social bowls whilst adhering to the Covid Rules and guidelines.

Club days, Thursdays and Saturdays were organized into pairs teams with those teams changing around each day and we have been running a small competion playing for the ‘Covid Cup’.

2 games played each day, winners playing winners and losers playing losers. A one bowl play off final determines a winning team and points were allocated to individuals, 5 for winners 3 for runner up.

After 6 playing days Des Colson, pictured above was the outright winner.

Whether it be because of the lockdown and members being bored at home, or whether this concept or similar promoting social bowls rather than outright competitive bowls, we had excellent turnouts from practically all our playing members.

It is to be hoped that the playing for the Covid Cup will be a one off as Covid comes under control and no more lockdowns are required!!

Kind regards,

Don Kirkbride.
