Sky Sport Bowls 3 / 5 Summary:

Good things come to those who wait.

.

At least that’s what it felt like at the end of play last night. After a great start to Manurewa’s Bowls 3/5 Sky Sport competition a lot of patience was required as the team battled through mixed form over the 8 weeks.

Two early wins and a place in the top half of the leader-board quickly became a slow slide down to relegation territory & some deep thought by Bill Jones (our selector) as to what was the right mix of players to keep our campaign on track. As it turned out there was no easy answer to this as unavailability & form forced decisions to be made.

Our third win against the Pt. Chev Pirates showed how important it is to have a squad of players all supporting each other and the bond in the team after that win was never better. There is something special knowing the whole squad has your back & we are all playing for the Club.

As Manurewa have shown on many occasions, the determination & will to win is always present.

This was never better represented than last night’s relegation match against Hinuera Heat.

A great bunch of supporters travelled to New Lynn to create a winning atmosphere, showing a true club spirit. Our team won 2 sets to nil, comprehensively outplaying the Heat & looking great in those bright orange shirts!
