The intrepid team of Junior men and Selector Bill Jones travelled to Te Aroha on Saturday for the Junior Inter-Centre.

Tui Park Bowling Club was in excellent order and the day was quite exceptional weather-wise apart from a bit of wind blowing across the Green.

Bill experimented with some different team selections which did not work out so reverted to previous teams for a better success rate.

The highlight of the day was the good performance of Adam Baillie in the Singles with 2 wins and a close run 3rd game for a narrow loss.

Lee Warburton and Ken Michelsen had a good win in the pairs and the Fours of Karam Chesham(S), Matt Wesche (3), Rio Bond (2)and Dave Burn (L)had a single point win in the second game. The other games were best described as interesting learning curves.

Our thanks go to the Juniors who competed well in the best traditions of Bowls Counties Manukau and also to Bill Jones for selecting and encouraging the players.

We look forward to next year as some of these players will still qualify as Juniors and for others there will be a Prem.2 team to strive for.
